Well, all I have to say, is that if this is true, count me in!!! Wahoo!
Famous presenter Oprah Winfrey accepted the invitation of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism to visit Cairo within the framework of a campaign to reactivate tourism, which fell in Egypt after the revolution of January 25. This Campaign is created in an attempt to have the Oprah Winfrey show aired from Tharir Square, Cairo, Egypt for five consecutive nights/days.
Oprah is expected to host a live episode from Tahrir Square on Friday, in the middle of March. Minister of Tourism Mounir Fakhri announced that the world’s most famous presenter agreed without hesitation to the idea. Oprah said she wanted her show to deal with the revolution, and to dialogue with the Egyptian youth.
This INITIATIVE, by Amr El Sabahi, is INTENDED to put Egypt on the international touristic arena and promote tourism allover Egypt, shed light on Egypt’s lost monuments and antiquities and call for retrieving the same along with, of course, celebrating Egypt’s Revolution of January 25, 2011.
I just went to Oprah’s Web site and via the Contact Us link at the very bottom of the page, asked the show producers to also devote time to covering the animal crisis and ESMA’s efforts. Fingers and toes are crossed that this happens, whether she tapes there or not!
